Something old, something new… The Tulle Market is the place for you.
The inspiration for starting The Tulle Market came after a spring-cleaning session where I was just floored (literally sitting on the floor surrounded) at how much stuff I had bought for our wedding day. We had a décor company take charge of the flowers and décor for our ceremony and reception, but I had somehow still managed to spend thousands of Rands on items to make our day just that little bit extra special and unique.
I lay my myriad of rose gold items out across the floor, categorised them, put aside the items that we could use as home décor (dinner parties now always have a rose gold theme), and packed the still rather large collection neatly away in boxes hoping it would be used again one day…
My wishes were soon answered as I received a call from a friend asking if they could use some of our items from our wedding day… Of course, I say!
After attending their wedding and seeing our items proudly on display and dust free, all the while admiring the other unique items that they had put so much time and effort into sourcing and building, I knew I wasn’t the only one with a bulging cupboard (and garage) full of wedding décor.
On the matter of bulging cupboards, let’s not even get into how many formal dresses I have stashed next to my husband’s army of suites he doesn’t wear anymore. I don’t even have space to keep my wedding dress, so my Mother-in-Law kindly offered to store it with her collection of once-off Mother-of-the-Groom dresses from each of her sons’ weddings.
My heart was happy knowing that our special items had helped make my friend’s wedding special for them too.
So here we are. We will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary this year and while every item from our day will hold a special place in my rose gold heart, I hope these items will be passed along from bride to bride, groom to groom, and guest to guest over the years to come, leaving a legacy of happy memories along the way.
Here are some reasons why you should list on The Tulle Market:
The goal is to create a community where we can pass on items and advice to help the next person have the celebration of their dreams. We all know how much time and effort went into sourcing the perfect items for our big day, and someone out there is looking for the same items you were able to find or make.
We also have a forum where you can ask our community for help with sourcing an item or just general advice about your upcoming event.
Happy hearts all round!
As we are all aware there is a huge drive for all of us to be more aware of our footprint on the planet.
An effortless way to create less waste is to buy second-hand or sell your pre-loved items and The Tulle Market makes it easy to access the second-hand market.
Turn your pre-loved items into extra cash
Um, yes please! We’ve all spent a small fortune ensuring every detail was in order on our wedding day or on the small boutique of formal dresses for the 15 weddings we attended in 2018.
This is a great opportunity to reacquire some of what you have spent, and use the money towards your home, the next event or even just to put it back in the bank.
The best part? You help someone else save a bit when they buy second-hand!
What can you list?
Any new or pre-loved item that is related to one of the categories (décor, accessories, formal wear or wedding dresses) can be listed for sale, or for rent– everything from your wedding dress, formal dresses and suites, bachelorette or photo booth décor, to the 200 tealight candles you have left over from your wedding day. We are sure that someone is looking for the items you have.
Thank you for visiting the website and for becoming a member of The Tulle Market community.
